What type of equipment do you use?
We use the latest Canon professional digital SLR and 35mm film cameras with power drive boosters that allow us to take up to 12 frames per second. We use professional Canon 'L' series lens with super large aperture as well as high speed professional film to capture events under most natural light conditions. The advanced technologies in our Canon equipment's exposure, focusing, optics, file writing and film handling system delivers the most spontaneous tools for us to capture candid shots of the fast changing events of your wedding day.
We also use a Mamiya professional medium format camera for your formal portraits and family group photos for extra sharpness and detail.
We've also added a Hasselblad panaromic camera to capture life like senic formal portraits.
What is the difference between digital SLR, 35mm film and medium format?
Professional digital SLR camera technology has advanced tremedously in the past years. Our Canon digital SLR cameras can take 8.2 migapixel images at up to 8.5 frames per second. Along with the interchangable 'L' Series professional Canon lenses, we are able to capture images equal to the result of 35mm film.
Medium format and 35mm refers to the size of the film used and the camera equipment. Medium format cameras use 6x6.45mm, 120 or 220 roll film which is approximately three times the size of a 35mm negative. As a result, medium format negatives will store more information than a 35mm and yield a higher quality enlargement. However, professional ultrafine grain 35mm print film also produces very high quality enlargements up to 8x10.
What camera format should I choose for my pictures?
If you are not planning to purchase enlargements, 16x20 size and larger, but you would like to have a wedding album and prints up to 8x10; we recommend you use either the digital SLR or the 35mm film format.
If you are planning to purchase enlargements 16x20 and larger for framing, then we recommend you use the medium format. However, keep-in-mind that you will most likely select an enlargement from your formal portraits or family group photos; thus we recommend you use the medium format for these shots and a 35mm format to capture the fast changing events throughout your wedding day.
What type of albums do you offer?
We offer an Art Leather album with our Grand and Ultimate wedding packages. The album is 13.5" wide by 12.5" tall and holds matted enlargements up to 8x10. Smaller sized albums are also available (please refer to the coverage section).
When do we get our photographs?
Our goal is to deliver your proofs within three weeks of your wedding. However, Art Leather albums are custom ordered and requires four to six weeks delivery time.
What do you do with the negatives?
We maintain your film negatives to insure proper storage. However, we do offer the negatives for you to purchase. Digital negatives are included for you to keep in all our packages.
How far in advance do you book?
We only book one wedding a weekend regardless of the length of your event. Our bookings can be as far as six to twelve months in advance. Engagement session, children and family portraits fill in the other days of the week. Please contact us for availability.
What happens after we book you for our wedding?
We will schedule a pre-wedding consultation several months prior to your wedding day to plan out your photographic itinerary. We will review the day's event, shooting location(s), and create a timeline of the day's event. As we get closer to your wedding day, we will confirm any changes to our plan. We will create a list of "must have" pictures as well as a list of the group portraits that you may want. Your wedding planning experience should be relaxing and enjoyable. We pay attention to every detail so that you can enjoy your special day without having to worry.
